"Those who can not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." George Santayana (Philosopher, poet, 1863-1952).

hmmm how so beautiful or a lack of beauty, but in some cases like denim! its a beautiful thing.Denim bears a french name "Denime"(de-nime) "serge de Nimes" which was a canvas cloth first produced in Nimes, France. There is even possibility that the sails for Christopher Columbus'
ships were made of serge De Nimes famous canvas
twill. Jeans is derived from Genoese sailors

called "genes",seriously???(hmmmm "iicky genes" how fitting and to this little bit of information, history, and commonly connected i had no idea of ) sailors who first wore pants of canvas. Dungarees is a Hindu word for course cloth worn by dock workers in Dhunga, India.

the lonely brother of denim bearing the chinese name "chino" worn by Punjabi armies

Chino \ch(i)-no\ as a boy's name is of Spanish origin, and the meaning of Chino is "chinese". Also a California place name for an agricultural area east of Los Angeles. Also a term for khaki-colored trousers.

Made in San Francisco, regular straight cut and a whole military aesthetic. All in for Dockers K1 chinos. "This World War II inspired US Army range, consists of a pair of regular straight cut “Made in SF – K-1” khakis of Cramerton Heavy Twill, harking back to the soldiers uniforms in the South Pacific and Far East. Design details such as re-enforced belt loops, one button back pocket and zinc bronze metal button fly, brings these vintage inspired classics to life."

The wonderful twill dyed with tea.

The chino or kahki hue, this process was used in dying the twill with tea . Khaki,is a Hindu word for "dust".
this strong twill fabric was dyed to give this hue camouflage during warfare matching more to the environment than the white trouser. Khaki is a colour, but is now synonymous with a military This twill pant became an everyday essential trouser made. To withstand harsh surroundings and allowing the comfourt rather than denim twill.

Khaki went from India to the Kaffir War in South Africa in 1851, and then after the Sudan Wars and Afghan Campaign of 1878 it was adopted in 1884 as official uniform. The same year khaki-order dye was adopted by other armies including America for the Spanish-America War in 1898.

Chinos were military issue trousers which were originally made in China.

The British Khakis found their way into China they were duplicated and sold to American soldiers in the Philippines for uniforms. Chinos can be khaki, green and many more colours adding a little more pleasure for younger consumers to not feel so old man like.

Developed in the mid-19th century for British and French military uniforms and known as khaki
The military style had no pleats and were tapered at the bottom of the leg to conserve fabric and constraints
it has since migrated into civilian wear. trousers of such a fabric gained popularity in the U.S. when Spanish-American War veterans returned from the Philippines with their twill military trousers aswell as the soldiers in civilian life from WWII continued this tradition to wear their military chinos as every day wear the popularity took president

yet another fact to enforce other cultures take on the twill fabric
these trousers that were originally made in China had a Spanish name , once a primary language of the Philippines during the era of Spanish rule; "camisa de chino" described shirts of such a twill fabric. In shortened form, "chino" came to describe the fabric rather than a garment made of it. Later, this reversed, and military-issue trouser of the fabric came to be known as "chinos".
